Mantas
Ingredients:
For the test:
Flour — 2 1/2 cups
Egg — 1 piece
Salt — 1 teaspoon
water — 1 cup (warm)
For the filling:
Beef — 2 kg
Onion — 4 pieces
Black pepper — 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin — 1 teaspoon
Salt — 1 teaspoon
Potatoes — 1 piece
Olive oil — 2 tablespoons
In a medium bowl, mix together the dry ingredients for the dough. Make a depression in the middle and pour warm water, add 1 egg. Knead for 5-6 minutes. Cover the dough with foil and let it stand for 10-20 minutes.
Cut the meat into small pieces. You can also use a meat grinder to make minced meat.
Chop the onion. Add spices.
Add the butter and mix the onion well with the meat. The filling is ready. You can add finely chopped potatoes, but this is not a mandatory step.
Roll out the dough. Sprinkle with flour to avoid sticking together. Fold into a long wide strip. Cut into squares.
Place the filling on the rectangles of dough.
Seal the corners on four sides.
Bring the water in a steamer to a boil. Place the mantas in a steamer. You can cook in a steam bath.
Cook for 45 minutes.
Season with ground black pepper and sour cream.
