There are many remedies for dry cough, the most effective is thyme, which is used in the form of tea and infusion, as well as in the form of inhalations. In addition, the well-known medicine for dry cough also contains thyme in its composition.

The benefits of thyme for coughing.

Since coughing occurs in various diseases, it can be said that thyme has a versatile application, because it contains so many useful essential oils that help with colds, pneumonia, common bronchitis, and whooping cough. This does not mean that thyme can cure all these diseases, but in combination with prescribed medications, thyme will bring invaluable benefits – it will accelerate the elimination of cough. The thing is that thyme is both a natural antiseptic and an antimicrobial drug. It copes perfectly with infection of the ENT organs and destroys pathogenic microflora throughout the respiratory tract, therefore, the use of thyme for preventive purposes will make it possible to strengthen the immune system and not get sick at all.

In addition to the fact that thyme has excellent antiviral and antimicrobial properties, it also has pronounced diuretic properties, this should be borne in mind for patients with kidney and urinary tract pathology.

The use of thyme already during the onset of the disease, when there is no cough as such, but only a sore throat is observed, will prevent the very appearance of cough, improve the quality of breathing and increase the secretion of sputum accumulated in the bronchi. Before using thyme preparations, consult your doctor to avoid overdose.

Folk recipes with thyme for dry cough.

1. Thyme decoction for dry cough. It is useful for colds, stomatitis, gingivitis, and intestinal ulcer. A decoction of thyme is useful for both children and adults. It is easy to prepare a decoction: 1 full tablespoon of chopped dry thyme herb is poured with a liter of boiling water, simmered for 15 minutes, then removed from the heat, infused for an hour, filtered and taken a tablespoon before meals 3-4 times a day. Children take 1 teaspoon 3-4 times a day, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor.

2. Infusion of thyme for dry cough. The infusion will work as a local disinfectant. Prepare the infusion: Pour 1 tablespoon of dry chopped thyme herb with one cup of boiling water and insist for 30 minutes. Then strain and take 1/3 cup for adults 3 times a day, regardless of the meal. Children are usually recommended to take a tablespoon of the infusion 3 times a day.

3. Thyme tea for dry cough. Preparation: warm the teapot, put in it a tablespoon of chopped thyme herb, pour ½ liter of boiling water, insist for 15 minutes in a sheltered state, to improve the taste, you can add fox soap, cranberries, drink warm.

4. Thyme for cough in smokers. The collection is being prepared: 2 tablespoons of thyme grass and marshmallow root, 1 tablespoon of licorice root, anise fruit, pine buds and sage leaf. Mix the collection, pour 1 tablespoon of the collection into a thermos, pour 300 ml of boiling water, insist for an hour, take 50 ml, adding honey five times a day for the taste, regardless of the meal. The treatment is carried out in courses of 3 weeks with breaks of 10 days.

5. Thyme from sexual impotence in men. A tablespoon of thyme is poured with a glass of boiling water, infused in a wrapped state for 30 minutes, then filtered and drunk up to 6 times a day.

6. Inhalations for cough. A tablespoon of thyme herb is poured with a liter of boiling water, breathe steam, covered with a towel for 20 minutes.
